The appointment changes effective 2025 require a call to schedule another telephone call or in person meeting (and sometimes both because the persons answering questions will not help start benefits, and vice versa…stupid decision!) They will no longer accept walk-ins or waiting in line. Then when you get someone to answer the first call to try (sometimes waiting over an hour for a machine to pick up and vomit long winded an unnecessary directions trying everything to get you off the phone and go back for answers on the SSA.gov sight which doesn’t answer the question driving the need for call in the first place and having to wait minutes listening to a machine tell you how great they are) and get another call scheduled at a specific time, it can be months in advance….meanwhile my benefits are not being paid! Then they don’t call back at the time they insisted, when they are committed to call based on a previously agreed date and time. When I finally got someone to call me back hours after the scheduled time, my phone rang once…and then they hung up…intentionally…so they didn’t have to talk with anyone and then can claim they tried to call. Typical government service. You guys need to track how your employees are gaming the new system and screwing benefit holders. I called immediately back the number I was called on and no one answered after one minute of ringing….no answer! SSA needs major restructuring….hopefully someone in the new administration changes how the SSA functions and its leadership team from top to bottom. Do your basic jobs! Instead of all the online wasted movies and other such things bragging about all the things you are doing…..waste!!!!! Just do your job that I and other taxpayers fund! Answer the phone, allow for scheduling time on line for in person meetings, and then be available to answer questions and fulfill your obligations timely. And pay benefits timely.
The guy at Sheman was very blunt and rude. I think he must of had a hangover. Now on I will go to Denton.
